KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 – The works ministry has corrected the four weaknesses pointed in the Auditor-General’s Report 2014 (3) released recently. They involved the Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ) in Kota Bharu, Kelantan; Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI) in Batu Pahat, Johor; and, the Government Office Complex in Putrajaya.

In the meantime, the repairs on the cracks in the parking lots for the disabled, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, condensor and the installation of the junction box at the ambulatory and haemodialysis centre of HRPZ were be completed on Nov 10.

The ministry’s secretary-general, Datuk Seri Zohari Akob said repairs at HSNI involved cracked walls, water infiltration, condensor and fungus, leaking toilets, air release valves and the road surface. He said the genset screen has been repaired, signages have been put up in the electricity room and the planter box has been removed.

“All the repair work done in stages was completed on Nov 5. All seven government buildings at the Government Office Complex in Putrajaya had functional lightning conductor system while those missing had been replaced. We have also appointed members of the Tender, Technical and Finance Evaluation Committee,” Zohari said in a statement here on Saturday. The deadline for completion of repairs is Nov 30.
