PUTRAJAYA, Dec 5 – UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told the media on Friday that the Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has confirmed his attendance at the UMNO general assembly which will begin next Tuesday.
“Tun Mahathir has given his reply that he and (wife) Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali will come. UMNO was now awaiting response from former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his wife, Tun Jeanne Abdullah, on the invitation for their presence at the assembly,” Tengku Adnan, who is Federal Territories Minister said when met after a “Ceria Ke Sekolah” programme here Friday.
On preparations for the UMNO general assembly, he said it was going on well according to schedule. The UMNO general assembly will be held from Dec 8 to 12 involving 5,738 delegates, comprising 2,762 delegates for the general assembly, Wanita assembly (993 delegates), Youth (992) and Puteri (991).
