KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 – UMNO General Assembly 2015 begins today with the opening ceremony by party president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the Merdeka Hall, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here. It started with a parade and flag-raising ceremony at Dataran Putra at 9am, followed by a policy speech by Najib, who is also the prime minister, at the Merdeka Hall, in front of 2,762 delegates.
This year’s general assembly is held for five days beginning Tuesday. A total of 5,738 delegates comprising 2,762 delegates for the UMNO General Assembly as well as 993 Wanita delegates, Youth (992) and Puteri (991) attended the assembly. A dinner will be held at Tun Razak I Hall at 8.30pm tonight.
