KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 – Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister (KPDNKK) Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said the government continuously find ways to increase the people’s income to help them cope with the increasing cost of living.
In the meantime, the increasing cost of living was among issues debated on the second day of the UMNO general assembly here Friday, with delegates calling for proactive measures to address the problem. Hamzah said living cost is determined by demand and supply.
“It is up to traders, but the price has to be reasonable. The ministry, with the cooperation of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), would help find markets for local and creative products overseas,” he told reporters after visiting the Creative Women Exhibition held in conjunction with the UMNO general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre Friday.
