KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 – Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak declaring himself as a “magnanimous” person when ended his winding-up speech at the 2015 Umno General Assembly here this afternoon by extending a handshake to his critic, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The deputy president had also accepted Najib’s hand, as delegates shouted and applauded the apparent show of the unity. Before he extended his hand to Muhyiddin, Najib had said in his closing speech that he chose to be magnanimous and act in line with Islam.
“I chose open my hearted and my doors, offer my friendship to all, so that we can come together and re-strengthen the UMNO. But I firmly remind anyone who still refused and wanted the dispute. This is well understood, this is no longer a private matter, they do not strike me as Najib Razak Umno president, but they have refused to seek peace in point UMNO assembly,” said Najib.
