KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 – A special task force should be set up immediately to counter negative perceptions created against the government and UMNO as they have negative impact on the country. Jempol UMNO vice chief Mustapha Nagoor said the government should act quickly by bringing to justice those responsible for spreading allegations which created negative perceptions towards UMNO and the government.
The special task force should be represented by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the police and the Attorney-General’s Chambers, and chaired by a credible person, he said when debating the president’s policy speech at the UMNO General Assembly 2015 here Friday.
He said UMNO should also empower its ‘Virality Unit’ to effectively counter speculations and false reports which resulted in the people to have a negative perception of the government. Besides that, he said the Communications and Multimedia Act should also be amended to include provision against those responsible for creating negative perception against the government.
