JOHOR BAHARU, Dec 14 – Johor UMNO is hoping that all the good that came out from the just-concluded UMNO General Assembly will be appreciated, especially the call for unity among party members and the leadership. Its chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said Johor UMNO had always placed high importance on unity among members and leaders so that UMNO, which was the party the Malays relied on, continued to be strong.
“We as Muslims must always uphold the spirit of brotherhood. We hope the members took home the positive messages from the assembly,” Mohamed Khaled, who is also Johor Menteri Besar, told this to reporters after opening the Perumahan Rumah Mampu Milik Johor (RMMJ) and Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA) Exposition 2015 as well as the redelineation of the Johor Baharu and Kulai municipalities, here Sunday.
He was commenting on the call by Prime Minister and UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during his winding up speech at the assembly for party members and the leadership to set aside their differences so that the party remained strong to serve the Malays and the country. On the redelineation exercise, Mohamed Khaled said it was being done so as to serve the people of Johor Baharu, Pasir Gudang, and Kulai better.
