ALOR SETAR, Feb 3 – Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir today announced his resignation as Kedah Menteri Besar with immediate effect. He told a media conference at Wisma Darul Aman here that he had lost the majority support of the Kedah State Assembly. He said he was informed that he have lost the majority support by the Kedah Council of Regency yesterday. He will be replaced by Ahmad Bashah Mohd Hanipah, the deputy chair of Najib’s ruling party in the state.
