KUALA LUMPUR, October 28 — Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin has urged Malaysia to negotiate with Disney Cruise Line to establish Penang or Langkawi as an official departure and arrival hub for its Disney Adventure cruise ship.

Speaking during the Budget 2027 debate, Yeo said Malaysia should move beyond serving as a temporary cruise stop to attract longer tourist stays.

She estimated that 25 to 30 annual cruise visits could generate between RM35 million and RM80 million in direct spending in Langkawi.

Yeo also called for improved immigration procedures, transport infrastructure and airport facilities to support growing cruise tourism.
