KUALA LUMPUR, October 30 — MCA has secured Bandar Hilir as its third seat in the Melaka state election following negotiations between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
MCA president Wee Ka Siong said the party would also contest Machap Jaya and Kelebang, which it won in 2021. Melaka city councillor Jasmine Lok Huey Yee, 38, has been named as the Bandar Hilir candidate.
The agreement follows MCA’s earlier protest over seat allocations, bringing BN’s total to 22 seats and PN’s to six ahead of the November 14 polls.
