GEORGE TOWN, November 6 — Penang police arrested a woman and her husband over a suspected extortion plot involving a machete attack on a 57-year-old man.
Police said the victim was chased and assaulted after picking up a 39-year-old woman he met through WhatsApp. His vehicle subsequently crashed into a wall near Jalan Pangkor.
Investigations suggest the woman allegedly planned the attack with her husband and a relative. Both suspects were remanded until November 7, while police are searching for a 26-year-old man.
The case is being investigated under Sections 324 and 427 of the Penal Code.
