KUALA LUMPUR, August 4 — Apple is postponing the rollout of its new Apple Intelligence features to the iOS 18.1 update, slated for October, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans. This delay means that Apple Intelligence will not be included in the initial launch of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. The decision is reportedly due to concerns about the stability of the features and the need for additional testing time.

Despite the delay, developers will have early access to Apple Intelligence through the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas starting next week, a move atypical for Apple. The updated release schedule suggests that the iPhone 16 lineup will debut without Apple Intelligence features, which will require a subsequent software update. Notably, certain advanced features like the revamped Siri are now expected to debut in early 2025.
