KUALA LUMPUR, September 18 — The Federal Territories Pardons Board convened at Istana Negara on Friday, a week after deferring former prime minister Najib Razak’s clemency application.
Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh and Attorney-General Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, both board members, were seen arriving at the palace Friday morning.
The board, chaired by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, postponed consideration of Najib’s application at its Sept 11 meeting.
The latest meeting has renewed attention on the petition, but authorities had not officially confirmed its agenda or announced a decision on Najib’s application as of Friday morning.
