GEORGE TOWN, Nov 4 – Sunway Carnival Mall make a visit to Shan Children’s Home with rejoicing in the sparkle of Diwali celebration at Taman Inderawasih on October 30, 2015. As part of Diwali campaign activity this year, staffs of Sunway Carnival Mall visited Shan Children‟s Home with spreading some joy and cheer to the children.
“With some generously filled goodie-bags partly sponsored by Popular, selected educational tool sets, Diwali packets and donation, we hope that we would be able to bring a little happiness and contentment to the children,” said Marketing Manager of Sunway Carnival Mall Miss Sharley Ooi.
The short visit was also furnished with a mock cheque presentation of RM1000 by General Manager of Sunway Carnival Mall Mr. Chow Heng Wah to Miss Saras Pillay, the administrator who is also the caretaker of Shan Children‟s Home Prai. Also presence is Miss Shamala S. the Honorary Secretary of Shan Children‟s Home Prai.
During the visit, the children performed a few nursery rhymes and dances that were specially choreographed for visitors to the home followed by a pre-planned DIY activity for the children by staffs of Sunway Carnival Mall using recycled plastic water bottle to make a decorative candle holder as a décor for Diwali celebration. For refreshment, they were treated with KFC and Big Apple doughnuts.
Shan Children‟s Home is a place of abode for 18 children aged 5 to 19 years old mainly from dysfunctional and poor family. The home relies solely on public donations to cover its daily expenses to persevere. Hence, we hope that the public would lend a helping hand as every little bit helps the home to continue their noble efforts in nurturing and supporting the less fortunate children.
Besides that, Miss Saras Pillay also shared with us that they are in need of a van to transport the children to school and she hopes that members of public would lend a helping hand by supporting their food fair cum garage sale on the 6th December 2015 from 9am till 2pm at their home.
