GEORGE TOWN, October 30 — Penang will introduce a RM600 one-off financial incentive for eligible e-hailing drivers in 2027, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced.
The state government has set aside RM9 million to fund the new assistance programme. An additional RM1.2 million will support existing incentive schemes for taxi drivers and school bus operators.
The budget speech did not specify the eligibility requirements, application procedures or payment schedule for the e-hailing assistance.
