GEORGE TOWN, November 1 — A fire damaged approximately 45% of a two-storey shophouse housing Medical Hall at 190 Kimberley Street on Sunday morning.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 7.32am, with firefighters arriving eight minutes later. The blaze originated on the ground floor and was brought under control by 8am.
Fifteen firefighters from Lebuh Pantai and Jalan Perak fire stations were deployed to extinguish the flames and prevent further damage.
No casualties were reported, while firefighting operations remained ongoing at the time of the initial report.
