BAYAN LEPAS, October 3 — A total of 263 Form Four and Five students have completed Penang STEM’s two-year Technical Skill Learning programme aimed at preparing young people for skilled careers.
The pilot programme involved 12 schools, with TVET-oriented students completing 90 after-school training sessions and visits to high-technology factories.
Graduates can pursue further TVET education or join the Academy in Industry programme, which allows participants to work, earn a salary and study towards recognised qualifications.
Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong said industry continues to need more highly skilled workers, stressing that TVET should be viewed as an important career pathway rather than a second choice.
