PETALING JAYA, October 15 — Media, government, civil society and digital platform representatives gathered for a roundtable examining how refugee issues are reported and shared in Malaysia.

Organized by the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia and APPGM-Refugee Policy, the workshop used real-world examples to examine how information can lose context.

Or credibility as it spreads online. Participants discussed verification, responsible headlines and visuals, and the importance of representing different perspectives without generalising entire communities.

CMCF said it will use the findings to develop practical reference materials and improve access to reliable information for media and other stakeholders.
