GEORGE TOWN, October 18 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has urged Penang authorities to improve pedestrian safety as quieter electric buses begin operating on the state’s roads.
Speaking at Rapid Penang’s electric bus launch, Loke said pedestrians might not notice approaching buses, making safer crossings and greater public awareness essential.
He also stressed the importance of integrating bus services with the future Mutiara Line LRT to improve first- and last-mile connectivity.
Loke said the Transport Ministry was awaiting approval for an additional RM2 million to build more bus stops in Seberang Perai and Kuala Lumpur.
