JAKARTA, April 10 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin having a press conference today to told the former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should allow the present government Datuk Seri Najib Razak to do its job in managing the country for the benefit of the people.
“There were not everyone who agreed with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad policies and plans during he was a prime minister. In the same time, he also not acceptable what the present government doing. He should understand how the system worked as he was an elder statesman and respected figure,” said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said there were differences in opinions but it may allowed the government of the day to do the job which we feel will bring benefit for the people. BR1M are being done for the people and to improve and upgrade their socio-economic status. So, let us carry on it with our economic transformation programmes, reforms and subsidy rationalisation.
“Meanwhile, I agreed that Najib should explain to the people the 1MDB issue and some personal matters. So that people will not have a negative impression on Najib and his government. In the same time, I also feel that Najib should meet up Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and speak it clear with it. I also believe that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad would be willing to listen on it,” Muhyiddin added.
