KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 – Residents in northern Peninsular Malaysia, especially in Penang and Kedah need to be cautious of the bad weather that hit the states, expected to continue until Sunday, November 5. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Melaysia) in a recent statement (9.30pm, Nov. 4) warned of a very heavy and continuous rain with strong winds in Penang and Kedah (Yan, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu) .
So far, the situation in George Town was deteriorated which causes three flights that were supposedly landing at the Penang International Airport (LTAPP) had to be reversed and diverted to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Langkawi International Airport (LTAL). Heavy rain from 2pm on Saturday caused some areas in George Town and Seberang Perai to be flooded.
