GEORGE TOWN, September 21 – The Center for Innovation and Productivity in Public Administration (PIPPA) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has expanded its training program to assist participants in developing transformation plans using the Organization Transformation through Integrated Governance (TUBE) method. Director and Founder of PIPPA, Dato’ Dr. Musa Ali, stated that the training program also plays a role in helping organizations understand the need and importance of the transformation process, as well as identifying critical elements in its implementation.
“To remain relevant and competitive, every organization cannot avoid transformation. However, the issue lies in how to translate the organization’s direction into strategies and actions,” he said. Therefore, he explained that the training program offered by PIPPA is specifically designed to help participants better understand organizational strategies while achieving the goal of developing transformation plans. The training program’s content covers several key focuses, including the specific framework of the TUBE technique, organization and change requirements.
The ‘High-Tech’ and ‘High-Touch’ elements of the TUBE dimension, and applying techniques in developing organizational and individual action plans, he explained. PIPPA recently conducted two TUBE training programs in the first week of September 2023. The first group consisted of 34 participants from 16 agencies, and the second was the Selangor Leadership Catalyst (SELECT) program involving 38 participants. The closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the first group were officiated by the Chief Secretary of Sabah Public Service, Datuk Zainudin Aman, and the Secretary-General of the Selangor State Government, Dato Haris Kasim, attended the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the SELECT program.
Both training programs were conducted in collaboration with the Bandung City Mayor’s Office, Indonesia, where participants also visited the Bandung Command Centre and received briefings on the transformation process of Bandung into a smart city. The transformation process of a smart city is interesting to learn and can be applied and developed locally. The data integration aspect is one of the branches that can serve as a benchmark for learning and practice, he said while expressing gratitude for the cooperation with Kota Bandung, which has been established since 2014.
“PIPPA is very grateful for the support and commitment shown by our strategic partners in Bandung, especially from the Bandung City Office of Communication and Information (Diskominfo), namely Mr. Yayan Brilyana and Mr. Darto AP,” he added.
