This commitment aligns seamlessly with the key objectives of Malaysia’s recently unveiled New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), which aims to foster an investment-friendly environment and rapid technological adoption to elevate the country’s manufacturing tech ecosystem. This move solidifies Malaysia’s position as a global technology and innovation hub, fostering new inventions and deeper collaborations between Alton and Malaysian SME industry players. Tengku Zafrul Aziz welcomed Alton’s investment and its potential to create higher-paying, quality employment opportunities, particularly for Malaysians.

As Alton establishes its roots in Malaysia, it is expected to become a pivotal industry partner, significantly contributing to economic growth and development. With this new partnership between MIDA and Alton, the necessary support will be provided to ensure the seamless execution of their investment project in the country.
David Lu, President, and CEO of Alton, commented on this expansion, stating, “Alton is proud to broaden its global footprint and develop its operations in Malaysia with the planned opening of our new manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru. This facility will enable us to support our global customers across various sectors and swiftly expand into new markets.
