KUALA LUMPUR, November 8 – UMW Grantt International Sdn. Bhd. (“UMW Grantt”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UMW Group and producer of Grantt Lubricants, has introduced its biodegradable multi-purpose food-grade grease, expanding its green product line-up. The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease was launched by YB Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (“IGEM”) 2023, Southeast Asia’s largest trade event for green technologies and eco solutions, at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
UMW Grantt, in collaboration with UMW Innovation and R&D Centre Sdn. Bhd., partnered with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah (“UMPSA”) and MNR Multitech Sdn. Bhd. to develop the first biodegradable multi-purpose food-grade grease to be commercialized in Malaysia. This eco-friendly grease is available in 400-gram packaging and is competitively priced. The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease is formulated with proprietary food-grade additives, environmentally friendly green-based oil, and a thickening agent with excellent heat reversion characteristics.
It is a biodegradable non-toxic grease designed for universal greasing applications, particularly in industries where there is a risk of contact with food. These industries include food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, meat processing, poultry and feed production, dairy, agriculture, and food packaging. This product meets various international standards, including DIN 51825, OECD 301B, as well as OECD 201, 202, and 203. It has also obtained the MyHijau certification, an official green recognition scheme endorsed by the Government of Malaysia, and holds the Good Manufacturing Practice certification.
