SELANGOR, November 14 – Anlene, Malaysia’s leading Adult Milk Powder brand, renowned for its advocacy in bone, joint, and muscle health, has unveiled startling findings from its Anlene Mobility Check program. This program, featuring ultrasound bone scans and muscle strength tests conducted since May 2022, has assessed over 20,000 Malaysians to date, revealing that 50% of Malaysian adults are at risk of poor bone health. Such a condition can lead to debilitating bone diseases like osteoporosis, significantly impacting one’s mobility.
The mobility check results have also exposed a high prevalence of weak muscle strength, affecting 1 in 3 Malaysian adults. Initiated as a series of roadshows in May 2022, this free screening aimed to assess bone and muscle health among Malaysian adults aged 19 and above. Ganesh Thiagarajan, General Manager of Fonterra Brands Malaysia & Singapore, expressed concern over the low awareness among Malaysians regarding the importance of bone health. He emphasized the urgent need to address mobility-related risks in the nation. At Anlene, we firmly believe that promoting preventive measures against osteoporosis can significantly reduce its prevalence within our population.
Our goal is to enable individuals to proactively embrace the vitality of their bones, joints, and muscles to stay active for as long as possible. In alignment with World Osteoporosis Day 2023, Anlene Malaysia reaffirms its commitment to promoting bone health awareness and education. To achieve this, Anlene Malaysia has partnered with retail giant AEON and Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong. Together, they are launching a nationwide initiative that includes the Anlene Mobility Check roadshow. This roadshow will take place at various AEON outlets and Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong throughout October, providing complimentary ultrasound bone scans and muscle strength tests to the public.
Dr. Paisal Bin Hussin, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong, stressed the significance of addressing osteoporosis, a condition silently affecting a significant portion of the population. He revealed that Malaysia is projected to have the highest increase in total hip fractures by 2050, primarily due to osteoporosis. Dr. Paisal also highlighted that bone-related diseases like osteoporosis are preventable, emphasizing the importance of starting bone health care from a young age. Assistant Nutrition Manager at Fonterra Brands Malaysia, Liew Yen Lee, emphasized the role of lifestyle choices in maintaining bone, joint, and muscle health. She recommended regular exercise and a balanced diet rich in calcium, vitamin D, protein, and other essential nutrients. Anlene’s formulation supports bone strength within a balanced diet and active lifestyle.
Anlene™ GOLD 5X™ is scientifically formulated to provide essential nutrients, including 100% calcium and vitamin D, high protein, collagen, MFGM Active™, and 17 vitamins & minerals.
