ISKANDAR PUTERI, October 8 – Akid Aziz, representing Petronas Sprinta Yamaha CKJ Racing, is on the brink of clinching his maiden CP150 championship title following a triumph in the eighth round of the Petronas Malaysia Cub Prix Championship 2023 at Iskandar Puteri Circuit. Steering the Yamaha Y15ZR, Akid has amassed 146 points across eight rounds, posing a challenge to contenders like Azroy Hakeem Anuar from Honda Yuzy Estremo Team with 115 points and teammate Ahmad Afif Amran with 114 points.
With only two races remaining at Litar Lumba Tangkak on October 21-22 and Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, on November 25-26, Akid is determined to sustain his momentum for a triumphant championship. In the CP150 category, Akid’s victory has solidified his commanding lead, showcasing an improved overall performance compared to the previous season. He is optimistic about maintaining the current momentum and securing the championship title. Azroy Hakeem secured the second position with his Honda RS-X, while Md Iqbal Amri Abdul Malek of Givi Tekhne Yamaha claimed the third spot.
Meanwhile, in the CP125 category, Khairi Asyraf Mahmood from Jetron Yamaha Yypang Racing Team dominated the race, finishing with an impressive time of 11:34.554s. His teammate, Fareez Afeez Abd Rahman, secured the second position, and Ahmad Syukran Aizat Md Yusoff from Tekhne Yamaha claimed the third spot in this exhilarating competition.
