KUALA LUMPUR, November 24 – Maxis, a leading telecommunications provider, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Blueshark, a prominent smart scooter provider, and EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. (EVC), the operator of the JomCharge charging network. The partnership aims to expedite the adoption of e-mobility solutions in Malaysia. The collaboration, announced at the E-Mobility Asia (EMA) 2023 exhibition, involves Maxis providing 4G and 5G network connectivity solutions for connected vehicles and EV charge points.

In a ceremony witnessed by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, Malaysia, Maxis formalized Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Blueshark and EVC. The collaboration extends beyond connectivity solutions, as Maxis plans to work closely with Blueshark and EVC to explore innovative digital solutions that will contribute to the advancement of new technologies within the EV ecosystem.

Among the initial projects, Maxis will develop an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dashboard designed to help Blueshark customers measure and analyze their carbon footprint through the usage of electric scooters. This initiative reflects Maxis’ commitment to providing comprehensive and sustainable solutions in the rapidly evolving field of e-mobility. The collaboration marks a significant step forward in integrating telecommunications capabilities with electric mobility for a more connected and environmentally conscious future.
