KUALA LUMPUR, December 7 – RTM, through its Magazine and Documentary Unit (UMD TV RTM), is set to release a special documentary titled “Sengsara Rasuah” (The Agony of Corruption) on December 9, 11:00 PM on TV1 and via live streaming on RTMKlik (rtmklik.rtm.gov.my). The documentary, directed by Azry Ahmad Mustafa Hadi (UMD TV RTM), is in conjunction with the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) celebrated annually on December 9 since 2003, as designated by the United Nations General Assembly.
The 30-minute program exclusively reveals the true story of the suffering of former football team coach Yusarman Yusof. He was sentenced to prison on 21 charges of match-fixing by bribing 11 players from the Negeri Sembilan President’s Cup football team between April 19 and 22, 2011. After serving his sentence, Yusarman sought redemption with the assistance of government agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Negeri Sembilan Department of Agriculture.
The documentary includes insightful interviews with Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Azam Baki, the Chief Commissioner of MACC, along with discussions with Safee Sali, the President of the Malaysian Professional Footballers Association (PFAM), and Dato’ Dollah Salleh, the Manager of the Football Team. These discussions shed light on the issue of corruption in Malaysian football. Don’t miss this compelling story on RTM.
