KUALA LUMPUR, December 28 – Vietjet and Novus Aviation Capital have joined forces in a strategic move toward sustainable aviation solutions, signing Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs) during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai. The collaboration aims to establish an aircraft financing and leasing vehicle, with the initial phase focusing on financing and acquiring 15 new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus for Vietjet.

Scheduled deliveries for these aircraft are set for 2024, and the vehicle is poised to become a comprehensive financing solution for Vietjet’s future orders, supporting the airline’s long-term growth strategy. In tandem with the financing venture, Vietjet is set to spearhead sustainability efforts in Vietnam’s aviation sector. Teaming up with SAF One, Novus’ Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) platform, Vietjet aims to develop, supply, and use sustainable aviation fuel in the country. This partnership underscores Vietjet’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions globally, with SAF offering a greener alternative derived from waste materials like used cooking oil.

Vietjet’s CEO, Dinh Viet Phuong, emphasized the airline’s pride in leading the charge toward sustainable aviation practices. Hani Kuzbari, Co-CEO of Novus Aviation Capital, highlighted the significance of this partnership in advancing the aviation industry through innovative solutions. This collaboration positions Vietjet to enhance its financial capacity for future growth and network expansion while playing a pioneering role in promoting sustainability in the global aviation industry.
