KUALA LUMPUR, December 11 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim asserted the robustness and stability of his administration, expressing confidence that it could thwart any attempts by the Opposition to seize control through backdoor tactics. During the Malaysia Madani dialogue session at the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme closing ceremony, Anwar dismissed the possibility of a break-in (“tebuk attap”), using the Malay euphemism for political maneuvers.

Emphasizing the concrete strength of his government’s majority in Parliament, he likened it to a structure with a concrete roof, impervious to attempts by the Opposition. Responding to suggestions about consolidating parties in the national unity government, Anwar stated that there is no dissent or disagreement within his Cabinet, and the focus is now on enhancing Malaysia’s regional performance.

“Our (roof) is made of concrete and not ‘attap’,” Anwar declared, emphasizing the government’s resilience against political maneuvering. He dismissed the notion that the Opposition could exploit any divisions within the government. Anwar’s commitment to stability aligns with the broader goal of elevating Malaysia’s standing in the region, as he highlighted the government’s unwavering focus on improving the country’s performance.
