KUALA LUMPUR, December 29 – Xiaomi, the global technology leader, has joined forces with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia for the Xiaomi Education initiative, showcasing the capabilities of its Xiaomi 13T Series camera technology co-engineered with Leica. The collaboration, valued at RM 65,000, involved hands-on activities, a masterclass by renowned photojournalist Mr. Sadiq Asyraf, and an assignment for UiTM’s Department of Creative Photomedia. The students, exploring the theme “Celebrating the Essence of Malaysia,” demonstrated their creativity through environmental portraiture, capturing diverse cultural stories.
The top three students were honored with prizes from Xiaomi Malaysia, emphasizing the synergy between technology, education, and creative expression. Mr. Eddie Huang, Country Manager of Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the outstanding outcomes and the opportunity to showcase Xiaomi’s innovative technology in education. Ts. Mohd Shariful Hafizal, Coordinator Program at the Creative Photomedia Department, emphasized the impact of accessible tools like Xiaomi smartphones in fostering creativity without financial barriers. Xiaomi Education aims to cultivate innovation and creativity, encouraging students to leverage technology for artistic expression.
