GEORGE TOWN, January 2 – A tragic incident occurred at a construction site in Penang last Saturday when a foreign worker lost his life due to electrocution while performing welding work. The Penang Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) has launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim, a subcontractor assigned to handle ducting and piping installation, was found unconscious.

A quick-thinking colleague noticed the situation and promptly brought the man down from the scissor lift before transporting him out of the construction site. Unfortunately, despite efforts, the victim was pronounced dead on his way to the hospital. Post-mortem results from Penang Hospital confirmed electrocution as the cause of death. DOSH is now conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
