KUALA LUMPUR, January 4 — The Ministry of Education (KPM) is actively working to assist a student in Negeri Sembilan who faces challenges continuing her studies due to a lack of citizenship documents. In a statement, KPM revealed that a meeting was held with the student’s family on December 28, facilitated by the Negeri Sembilan Education Department (JPNS), with the primary goal of finding a viable solution to ensure the student’s uninterrupted education.
The meeting, conducted in a harmonious atmosphere, resulted in several proposals being submitted regarding the documentation requirements for the student’s citizenship. The JPNS expressed its commitment to aiding the student in the school registration process. The positive outcome of the meeting aligns with KPM’s dedication to resolving the citizenship documentation issue faced by the 10-year-old girl.
The Ministry’s response comes after a news portal reported that the student, unable to continue her studies in Year Four due to citizenship documentation issues arising from her parents’ failure to register their marriage, faced potential disruptions in her education. The family’s efforts to pay RM120 annually for the student’s studies at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sri Pagi in Senawang were impacted by the new policy introduced by the Ministry of Education. The collaborative efforts between the ministry and relevant departments aim to ensure the student’s educational journey remains uninterrupted.
