KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 – Pos Malaysia Berhad, the country’s leading postal and parcel service provider, is calling upon Malaysian students aged 9 to 15 to participate in a national letter-writing competition. Organized in collaboration with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the competition aims to cultivate an appreciation for the importance of postal services in society and foster the art of letter-writing among the younger generation.
This year’s theme, “At 150 years old, the UPU has served people around the world for more than eight generations. The world has changed enormously since then. Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they inherit,” challenges participants to reflect on the evolving world and articulate their hopes for the future in a letter not exceeding 800 words in English. Entries will be judged based on the structure as a letter, thematic relevance, creativity, and language usage.
Exciting prizes await the winners, including cash rewards and digital certificates of appreciation. The Grand Prize winner will have the honor of representing Malaysia in the prestigious 53rd UPU International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People (2024). To participate, interested students must submit their entries along with a printed registration form by April 1, 2024, to the designated address in Kuala Lumpur.
