GEORGE TOWN, March 2 – In response to rising operational and maintenance costs, coupled with infrastructure demands, Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) has announced a revision in ticket fares for the Penang Hill funicular service, effective May 1st, 2024. PHC, committed to enhancing visitor experiences, continually invests in facility upgrades on Penang Hill.

Factors such as inflation and currency exchange fluctuations have contributed to the need for periodic fare reviews, with the last revision dating back to 2019. Under the new pricing structure, two-way tickets for MyKad/MyKid/Valid Resident ID holders will be priced at RM16 for adults and RM8 for children (ages 4-12) and senior citizens (age 60 and above). Similarly, one-way tickets for MyKad/MyKid/Valid Resident ID holders will be priced at RM8 for adults and RM4 for children (ages 4-12) and senior citizens (age 60 and above).

Additionally, Sunrise tickets for MyKad and MyKid holders, available during off-peak seasons, will be priced at RM5. Despite the revision, PHC ensures that ticket fares remain affordable for local residents, aiming to maintain accessibility while upholding safety standards. PHC expresses gratitude to visitors for their unwavering support, reaffirming Penang Hill’s status as the preferred hill resort in Malaysia and the region.
