KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 – Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek unveiled the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) new intervention curriculum designed for Standard 1 students to align with the upcoming 2027 School Curriculum. The programme aims to enhance literacy, numeracy, and character development through the KSSR (2017 Review) Edition 3 curriculum document, incorporating early literacy and numeracy screening, reporting classroom assessment results to parents, and effectively distributing curriculum documents.
The intervention curriculum will commence in July, focusing on updating and restructuring the content of science and mathematics subjects at Level 1, with an emphasis on early literacy and numeracy screening for Year 1 students. Education Director-General Azman Adnan highlighted the importance of early screening, ensuring students master fundamental skills within three months. The programme underscores MOE’s commitment to providing tailored support to students, teachers, and parents, aiming for improved academic outcomes and effective management of key subjects like mathematics, science, Malay, and English.
