KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 — ChargEV users can breathe a sigh of relief as the company announces the restoration of its EV charging network after experiencing nationwide disruptions on the second day of Hari Raya. Reports indicated that most, if not all, of their EV chargers, including AC and DC charge points, were unavailable during the outage. For users in need of charging, ChargEV recommends alternative options through their EV roaming access for Gentari and JomCharge charging networks.
Additionally, users can locate other available EV chargers, such as Shell Recharge and ChargeSini, on different networks nearby using the PlugShare app or website. While the cause of the disruption remains undisclosed, some reports suggest the downtime occurred after midnight around 3 am. ChargEV’s customer service has assured users of their awareness of the service disruption and their efforts to restore the EV chargers promptly. Updates regarding the situation will be provided through ChargEV’s social media platforms.
The outage significantly impacts EV drivers, particularly during the Hari Raya holiday season, given ChargEV’s status as one of the largest EV charging networks in the country. With chargers deployed at various locations, including interstate highways and Starbucks outlets, the disruption underscores the importance of a reliable charging infrastructure for EV users nationwide.
