CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, July 5 – This fall, AirPods will receive software updates that promise to transform how users interact with Siri, handle calls, and enjoy gaming. The updates will introduce Siri Interactions, allowing AirPods Pro users to respond to Siri with a simple nod or shake of the head, enhancing privacy and convenience. Additionally, Voice Isolation will improve call clarity by filtering out background noise, ensuring clear communication even in loud or windy environments. Gamers will benefit from reduced audio latency and Personalized Spatial Audio, creating a more immersive experience.
Siri Interactions, powered by machine learning on the H2 chip, will enable users to manage calls, messages, and notifications without speaking. This feature is particularly useful in situations where vocal responses are impractical. Voice Isolation will leverage the same H2 chip to enhance voice quality during calls, making conversations clearer regardless of surroundings. For gamers, updates will introduce Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking across AirPods models, delivering immersive sound. The new features will be available this fall as a free firmware update for compatible AirPods models.
