CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, June 11 – Apple today announced significant updates to its Home products, elevating entertainment experiences and increasing everyday convenience. The new tvOS 18 introduces features like InSight, Enhance Dialogue, and improved subtitles, transforming cinematic experiences. Users can enjoy real-time information about actors, characters, and music with InSight, while Enhance Dialogue utilizes machine learning to provide clearer vocals over background noise. Subtitles now appear automatically at appropriate moments, enhancing viewer engagement.
In addition to these updates, tvOS 18 introduces 21:9 support for projectors and new screen savers, including delightful animations of Snoopy and Woodstock. Apple Fitness+ has been redesigned to include a personalized “For You” space, enhanced search features, and more. The Home app with iOS 18 now offers guest access, hands-free unlock with home keys, and the ability to view home electricity usage through partnerships with utilities like Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Both tvOS 18 and iOS 18 are available as developer betas today and will be released as free updates this fall.
