KUALA LUMPUR, August 23 — Sony Corporation has announced the launch of “Gaming Virtualiser by 360 Reality Audio,” a new plug-in software designed for game developers to easily produce spatial game sound for headphones. The software integrates with Wwise®, a popular audio middleware used in game development, allowing for the creation of immersive soundscapes with low latency and minimal processing load. This innovation caters to the increasing demand for spatial audio in mobile and PC games, enhancing the gaming experience by providing realistic, 3D sound environments.

Sony is collaborating with leading game developers such as COLOPL, Inc., Cygames, Inc., and SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. to implement the technology in upcoming titles. The “Gaming Virtualiser by 360 Reality Audio” promises to bring more freedom and precision to sound design, enabling developers to craft detailed audio experiences that reflect their creative vision. By delivering high-quality spatial sound through standard headphones, Sony aims to make advanced audio experiences accessible to a broader gaming audience across various platforms.
