PETALING JAYA, August 27 — CelcomDigi Berhad recently hosted the fifth edition of its CelcomDigi MY5G CEO Series, part of a broader initiative to drive 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in Malaysia. Held in collaboration with Microsoft, Huawei, and Singapore’s National University Hospital (NUH), the event brought together industry leaders and decision makers from sectors such as healthcare, education, and law enforcement.
The session showcased how 5G-enabled technologies, including mixed reality-guided surgery and remote medical support, are transforming operations and enhancing services. Datuk Idham Nawawi, CelcomDigi’s CEO, emphasized the transformative potential of 5G beyond just network connectivity. “The true potential of 5G lies in its ability to power emerging technologies like AI, revolutionizing operations and driving innovation across sectors,” he said.
The MY5G CEO Series highlighted how integrating 5G, AI, and cloud computing can elevate public services and urban development, paving the way for smart cities. Participants also visited CelcomDigi’s AI Experience Centre (AiX), a hub showcasing over 45 use cases of AI and 5G technology. AiX, developed with over 40 global and local tech partners, features live and pilot projects aimed at accelerating digital transformation.
CelcomDigi plans further workshops and a 5G business conference later this year to support Malaysian enterprises in their digital journey.
