KUALA LUMPUR, August 23 – Nokia has been chosen by TM to enhance its international optical Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network, a move that will significantly boost hyperconnectivity across data centers in Malaysia and support the growing demand from hyperscaler customers. The advanced optical backbone, powered by Nokia’s fifth-generation Photonic Service Engine (PSE-Vs), will enable TM to efficiently manage the surging data traffic while reducing latency and supporting AI-readiness, aligning with TM’s strategic direction to become a leading provider of high-speed optical network services in Southeast Asia.

The new DWDM network will serve as an express route, connecting the Malaysia-Thailand and Malaysia-Singapore borders, and linking key data centers and a cable landing station. This will help TM handle the exponential growth of data traffic, ensuring superior network performance, scalability, and environmental sustainability. John Harrington, Nokia’s Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific Sales, emphasized the partnership’s role in accelerating AI adoption and delivering a world-class network experience in the region.
