KUALA LUMPUR, October 4 – The Maxis eKelas HIPMaX StoryFest 2024 brought Malaysian folklore to life, with over 11,000 students nationwide participating in storytelling and theatre performances. Jointly organised by Maxis eKelas and the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) of the Ministry of Education, this year’s competition saw its highest turnout, celebrating the theme of “Celebrating Malaysian Folklore.”
Eighteen finalists from six states competed in the finale, reenacting popular folklore through creative performances in three categories: Primary, Lower Secondary, and Upper Secondary. The grand finale, held at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Bahasa Antarabangsa, was graced by the Minister of Education, YB Fadhlina Sidek, and marked the competition’s sixth successful year of encouraging students to enhance their communication skills and cultural knowledge.
