MELAKA, August 12 — PKR views the upcoming Melaka state election as an opportunity to rebuild public confidence after failing to secure any state seats in 2021, state acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim said.

Adam said the party must adopt a more mature political approach focused on ideas and policies rather than patronage.

He said PKR would prioritise issues including the cost of living, youth, education, housing, wages and mental health.

The party’s 2026 National Congress, scheduled in Melaka from Aug 13 to 16, will also focus on strengthening preparations for the state election.
