KUALA LUMPUR, August 22 — DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng said six proposals he submitted to support Malaysia’s 1.1 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been rejected by the government.

The proposals include raising the e-Invoicing threshold to RM5 million, establishing a taxpayers’ tribunal, removing employers’ 2% EPF contribution for foreign workers.

And introducing a one-year interest moratorium on existing MSME loans. Lim also proposed RM5 billion in interest-free, collateral-free financing for 100,000 businesses.

The Finance Ministry, however, said the proposals would be assessed comprehensively based on fiscal capacity, policy priorities and their potential economic impact.
