GEORGE TOWN, August 17 — Bersama leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad have stepped up criticism of DAP and PKR, arguing that Malaysian politics should move away from fear and race towards everyday problems facing voters.

Speaking at a Bersama gathering in Penang, Rafizi said DAP’s emphasis on defending non-Malay interests risked reinforcing an “us versus them” political divide.
Nik Nazmi accused established parties of using fear of their rivals to retain voter support, saying Bersama wanted to avoid repeating their mistakes.

Rafizi also criticised his former party PKR for relying heavily on its past struggles instead of offering a clearer future direction. He said political debate should focus more on issues affecting ordinary Malaysians.
Including the cost of living and healthcare. Nik Nazmi said Bersama expects it could take five to seven years to build enough support to challenge Malaysia’s major political parties.
