GEORGE TOWN, August 21 — About 150 people gathered at Penang Institute for a GTLF Plus family programme combining storytelling and live classical music.
“The Wolf, the Emperor, & the Ensemble” brought Little Red Riding Hood and The Emperor’s New Clothes to life through performances by The Tarts Ensemble and guest narrators.
GTLF director Dr Ooi Kee Beng said the programme showed how literature could be experienced beyond the printed page while encouraging young people to engage with storytelling and language.
Supported by the Penang Arts Council, GTLF Plus extends George Town Literary Festival activities throughout the year ahead of GTLF 2026.
