BANGI, August 24 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has sought Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s intervention over Felda’s troubled investment in PT Eagle High Plantations.

Anwar said the investment remains caught in legal proceedings in Indonesia and could leave Felda facing a RM2.5 billion loss.

Without a resolution, he said Felda may recover only about RM200 million. Speaking to Felda’s management, Anwar said past governance failures must be confronted as part of efforts to restore the agency.

He also rejected attempts to frame scrutiny of Felda or Tabung Haji along racial or religious lines, saying action should be based on wrongdoing and mismanagement.
