KUCHING, August 25 — IKEA Malaysia will open its first East Malaysia store in Kuching this December, expanding its physical retail presence into Sarawak.
IKEA Kuching will also be the company’s first small-format store in Malaysia, offering a more compact version of its traditional shopping experience.
Customers will be able to explore room settings, home furnishing solutions and selected products for immediate purchase, while accessing a wider IKEA range for ordering.
IKEA said the store was developed after studying how Kuching households use living, dining and storage spaces. The company will also recruit locally as it builds its Kuching team.
A specific opening date has not yet been announced.
