GEORGE TOWN, August 30 — The Merdeka Charity Golf Tournament 2026 will bring golfers and community supporters together in Butterworth on Sept 6 to raise support for charitable causes.
The tournament, organised by the Malaysian Medical Association Penang Branch and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Setia Ikhlas Pulau Pinang, will be held at Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara.
State youth, sports and health executive councillor Daniel Gooi encouraged golfers, companies and the public to participate, sponsor the event or contribute donations.
He said the initiative demonstrates how sports can promote healthy living, community engagement and social responsibility while supporting people in need.
